Learn from this investor’s $100m mistake

In 2010, a Grammy-winning artist passed on investing $200K in an emerging real estate disruptor. That stake could be worth $100+ million today.

One year later, another real estate disruptor, Zillow, went public. This time, everyday investors had regrets, missing pre-IPO gains.

Now, a new real estate innovator, Pacaso – founded by a former Zillow exec – is disrupting a $1.3T market. And unlike the others, you can invest in Pacaso as a private company.

Pacaso’s co-ownership model has generated $1B+ in luxury home sales and service fees, earned $110M+ in gross profits to date, and received backing from the same VCs behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.

A 19-year-old American is now able to leave the coldest continent after a months-long ordeal.

  • The backstory: Ethan Guo launched a plan last year to fly to all seven continents while raising funds for childhood cancer research. Chilean authorities alleged he provided them with a fake flight plan in June and landed in Antarctica without permission.

  • In limbo: Guo was hit with criminal charges in the matter. He spent six weeks living at a Chilean military base after being ordered to not leave the South American country’s territory — conditions left him unable to leave for warmer climates.

  • The news: A judge dropped the charges yesterday after Guo agreed to make a $30K donation to a childhood cancer charity within 30 days. He was also ordered to leave Chilean territory immediately and cannot re-enter the country for three years. It is unclear whether he will be allowed to leave in his Cessna if conditions permit.
