Former Zillow exec targets $1.3T

The top companies target big markets. Like Nvidia growing ~200% in 2024 on AI’s $214B tailwind. That’s why the same VCs behind Uber and Venmo also backed Pacaso. Created by a former Zillow exec, Pacaso’s co-ownership tech transforms a $1.3 trillion market. With $110M+ in gross profit to date, Pacaso just reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.

The Top Tip

Big talk

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will deliver a much-anticipated policy speech today.

  • The news: Powell will give the keynote address to close out the central bank’s annual summer retreat in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. His comments will be heavily scrutinized as Wall Street looks toward next month and the remainder of the year in regards to interest rate cuts.

  • Go deeper: Powell called the U.S. jobs market “solid” a few weeks ago, which suggested the Fed was not ready to consider a cut. But a bad jobs report and downward revisions have since followed — opening the door for a cut in September. Markets closed down yesterday ahead of the speech.

  • Big picture: Powell is also trying to protect the Fed’s independence as his term winds down. President Donald Trump has blasted Powell — who he appointed — on numerous occasions for not cutting rates, but has refrained from firing him (which legal experts say would be illegal). But Trump has attacked the Fed in other ways, criticizing its headquarters renovations and accusing Lisa Cook, a board member, of mortgage fraud.
